Calling All Entrepreneurs!

Pan-UVA Entrepreneurial Society Kickoff – Oct. 7, 2009

Have you ever dreamed of owning your own business?  Taking something in your lab to market?  Making an impact on the world with something you create?

Entrepreneurial students from across the University of Virginia will gather Oct. 7 to kickoff the E*Society, an organization dedicated to connecting and empowering UVA-affiliated entrepreneurs.  The E*Society will tie together a network of students, alumni, researchers and professors, local business groups, venture capitalists and angels, UVA administrators, and local entrepreneurs with the goal of dramatically increasing the flow of successful businesses started within the UVA community.

You will hear from two entrepreneurs, Trip Davis and George Gillies, who started companies here at UVA and grew them into publicly traded corporations.   Both companies are traded on the NASDAQ today!

Event Details:  October 7, 2009 from 5-7 PM, Rouss & Robertson Room 120 (McIntire School of Commerce) on the Lawn.  Refreshments and Appetizers will be served!  Please RSVP to or visit the web site for more information about the E*Society.
